Justin Leduc Manager Fleet Equipment PRECISION SNOW REMOVAL OTTAWA ONTARIO A lthough all members of the Precision Snow Removal team go above and beyond in helping to manage the snow removal business Owner Kent Peddie CSP says Justin Leduc ASM has risen to be an all star at the company Leduc who joined the company six years ago as an equipment operator and worked his way to his current position about two years ago not only managed to keep Precisions fleet of several dozen skid steer loaders and trucks operational but he immersed himself in helping with new technologies in the office He initiated research on how liquids might help deicing operations and moved forward the companys sustainability goals On top of all of that he became a person who other team members could call when they needed help This past year was a particularly difficult winter as we received 41 percent more snow than average and when the snow events landed in Ottawa they were relentless and did so without much mercy Peddie says It is not easy to nominate a single member of our dedicated group but this past year Justin Leduc became our All Star of Snow Ice Sebastian Damasceno Operations Manager DAMASCENOS LANDSCAPES CONSTRUCTION SHELTON CT A native of Minas Gerais Brazil in 1988 Sebastian Damasceno emigrated to the United States where he started his own residential landscaping business When the recession hit in 2008 Damasceno decided the time was right to relinquish the company to his son Eddie who joined his parents in the United States in 1997 after graduating from high school in Brazil Eddie bought his fathers residential landscaping accounts and ran the business for two years In 2010 Eddie started Damascenos Landscapes Construction while shifting the companys focus to commercial work Damascenos now plows 38 sites in the winter while handling maintenance on more than 100 commercial properties between the spring and fall The company covers Connecticut with a summer crew of 33 and winter crew of 80 including Founder Sebastian Damasceno who is now the firms operations manager He plays a big role in the company Eddie says of his father Everyone in the company enjoys working with him He is dedicated and cares for customer safety and the companys best interest www sima org snowbusiness DECEMBER 2017 SNOW BUSINESS D2
